Jiří Valoch Curator Theoretician Collector / Years 1965–1980

Besides his own artistic work, Jiří Valoch was active in other fields as well: he organized a large number of exhibitions and wrote numerous academic essays. Based on the study of archival sources, interviews with Jiří Valoch and artists he collaborated with, the monograph will trace the process that led to the creation of his extensive collection and describe the societal mechanisms that determined the art scene in Czechoslovakia in the Normalization period and the first six years after 1989.
